Black History Month - Home Learning

We have had a very interesting half term thinking about British Black History. In our assemblies we have learnt all about the Windrush and thought about what it would have been like to move from the Caribbean to the UK. We have thought about what is meant by DIVERSITY and how difference makes the world more exciting and interesting. We learnt how Mo Farah, Floella Benjamin and Laurie Cunningham had to fight prejudice to become icons of sport. Class 2 have learnt about Marcus Rashford and Nicola Adams and have written letters to them. Class 3 have been learning about the life of Walter Tull - the first man of colour to lead the army into battle. Class Four have been thinking about the Hidden Figures - the female black mathematicians who helped Nasa get to the moon.
