KS2 go to the Buddhist Temple

Date: 9th Nov 2018 @ 1:40pm

On Wednesday 7th November we went to the Buddhist Temple in Ulverston.  The visit was part of our annual RE week and this year all of KS2 have been studying the life of Buddha and learning how Buddhists live their lives.

The Temple was built in 1997 and is home to a large group of nuns and monks.  Inside the temple, we had to take our shoes off, out of respect.  We met Jeff, who works at the Temple. He showed us the main shrine including the large statues of Buddha.  We were shown how to meditate and we meditated together, thinking about people we know who are unwell.

We have all enjoyed our week learning about Buddhism and this visit was a highlight.
